OMT is delighted to congratulate Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Nha and her team at the Faculty of English Language and Culture, University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University (VNU Hanoi), on winning the 2026 GMA Award for Outstanding Courses with The English B1 LMS course.
Organized by the Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance (GMA), the GMA Awards recognize outstanding educational innovations that demonstrate innovation, educational value, and potential for broader application. In 2026, 20 courses from institutions and organizations around the world were selected, including 10 GMA Award winners and 10 recipients of the GMA Awards: AI Special Recognition. The English B1 LMS course, developed and delivered by Faculty of English Language and Culture (KTA), ULIS VNU is one among the 10 GMA Award winners for 2026 (link).
For OMT, this recognition is particularly meaningful because it celebrates not only an outstanding course, but also a multi-year journey of collaboration between ULIS and OMT in digital language education.
OMT has worked with ULIS KTA since 2017 as its technology partner, supporting the development and operation of online language-learning solutions. In 2019, OMT migrated the KTA-specific Learning Management System at http://kta.elearn.vn to AWS Cloud, enabling ULIS to deliver scalable and resilient online learning to thousands of VNU students every semester (link).

Today, the B1 English course continues to be one of the most popular online course on OMT’s eLearn LMS, bringing together academic expertise from ULIS with a robust digital learning environment. The collaboration has also expanded into AI-powered assessment, including the joint development of AI-supported B1/B2 writing assessment on the LMS (link), with generous cloud and AI support from AWS and MegaZone Cloud.
OMT warmly congratulates Associate Professor Dr. Nha and the entire ULIS KTA team on this well-deserved international recognition. We are proud to have been part of the journey and look forward to continuing our partnership in building innovative, intelligent and accessible digital education for Vietnam and beyond. This recognition also reflects the shared contribution of KTA and OMT to Vietnam’s broader mission of strengthening teachers’ English proficiency and capacity, supporting the national goal of making English a second language in schools by 2030.
