Hanoi, May 1st, 2019. The Board of Management and the executive team of OMT is excited to announce and welcome Mr. Christopher McDonald, a long-time mentor to and trusted friend of OMT team, to our Board of Advisors.
This the the welcome note from Chris: “My name in Christopher McDonald, and I am the incoming Head of School at Maine Central Institute (MCI), USA, a competitive college preparatory school with a long, rich history of preparing outstanding young students for academic and life success.
As an educator who has worked closely with students and school leadership for over twenty five years in the USA, Vietnam and Canada, I am thrilled to join the Board of Advisors of the Online Management Training Company. Together with the Vietnam-based OMT team, we provide the best opportunities for students, teachers and schools in Vietnam, including offering scholarships for exceptional Vietnamese students to join MCI, capacity development programs for teachers and partnership opportunities with interested Vietnamese educational institutions. Together, the Online Management Training and I will be collaborating on many projects as we prepare students for the challenges of the future. We look forward to working with everyone in our network.”
Christopher McDonald’s short profile: Chris has worked in education throughout his entire professional career, beginning as an instructor and coach before assuming leadership positions in school administration. At the Winchendon School in Massachusetts, where he served as associate head of school for six years, Chris was instrumental in creating a summer camp program with The Olympia Schools in Hanoi, Vietnam. Chris then served as head of school at The Olympia Schools, where he still is on the advisory board. During this period, he actively engaged with Vietnamese educational technology providers such as OMT, and with Vietnam’s leading teachers’ training institutions, such as the VNU Education University, to broaden the impact and outreach of the educational leadership and pedagogical initiatives he spearheaded at The Olympia Schools to the educator community in Vietnam.
The President of the Board of Trustees of MCI describes Chris as “a can-do leader” with an excellent understanding of how schools operate, educate, and thrive in today’s economy. His focus is on student achievements and positive experiences in a safe, supportive educational environment. He possesses an impressive talent for sharing his positive approach to education and energy with those around him, as well as his deep connections to students.
